12 May A mountain of crepes
Aosta – A sweet initiative in the spirit of solidarity enlivened the historic center of the Aosta Valley capital on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The event “A Mountain of Crêpes” took place in Piazza Chanoux, organized by the Aosta Valley Animal Protection Association, chaired by Laura Verdura, in collaboration with Confcommercio, with the aim of raising funds for Avapa.
The initiative attracted widespread participation from residents and tourists, once again confirming the area’s commitment to animal welfare. Over the course of the day, 1,400 crêpes were distributed, prepared and served thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the invaluable assistance of pastry chef Luciano Piga. The result was also significant financially: the event raised €2,730, entirely donated to support Avapa’s activities.
The preparations made the day before, Saturday, April 18th, were crucial. Luciano Piga and his team worked at the Ristorfoods Experience Lab to create the necessary dough. This behind-the-scenes work made the day a success. The crêpes, offered in a variety of variations—from classic Nutella to apricot and berry jam—delighted everyone, young and old, transforming the square into a place of conviviality and sharing.
The event thus confirms itself not only as a fundraising opportunity, but also as a community gathering, combining flavor and solidarity in support of an important cause.
